Hotel 53

We chose this hotel because of its central location for a weekend leisure break. The hotel is under new management who were efficient and friendly. An excellent buffet brakfast. Although we didn't try the restaurant there was a well chosen wine list in the bar.

	Helpful staff and limitless breakfast.
	The minimalist decor might not appeal to everyone. Had to remind reception staff to clean our room. The hotel was very full so domestic staff were stretched.

The hotel was very impressive as you walked through the entrance. It was clean and bright and the staff were most polite and helpful.We were advised that if we required anything at all, that we only had to ring to reception where they would do their utmost best to oblige. They were not wrong, as during the stay I required a laptop as I had forgotten to take mine with me. This was no problem at all, a laptop was available to collect from reception. The rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable and food in the restaurant was just as good too. It is in a really good position for the town centre which is just 5 minutes walk away and you are able to leave your car in a secure place during your stay. Well worth staying at!

Very comfortable hotel and excellent shower. The bed was very very comfortable just wish it was bigger King size would have been wonderful even double bed would have been nice. Staff are very attentive if not a too quick to clear plates.

	The abmiance. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in, it just wasn't big enough.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel. Although the quality of staff and facilities are as you would expect from this chain of hotels, we will not be coming back in the future due to the noisy rooms at night.

	Location is ideal. Food is pretty good.
	As above, the noise in our room on our last stay was such that we hardly slept at all on the second night.

I stayed at the hotel for a birthday celebration. The room was fairly basic but very pleasant. The location was excellent and we were able to walk into the city centre in approx 10 mins. Beds were very comfortable. There were a few stag/hen parties staying in the hotel but these posed no problem and were not overly noisy. The shower was powerful and refreshing, although there were no baths in the rooms. Breakfast is charged seperately but there are numerous cafes and restaurants in the local area.

Room excellent, clean and modern with all we needed for our one night stay. Plenty of local literature and info on local attrations, transport etc which we found usefull. Have already recommended this hotel to friends and family and would definately stay in this hotel again.

A good hotel in a good location, clean and comfortable. However I've stayed at cheaper hotels in York with just as good locations and standards. I'd stay there again but only if cheaper alternatives aren't available.
