A nice place to stay
Cold plates to put lovely warm breakfast foods on, a real no no as far as I am concerned, otherwise no complaints. |

Would use the hotel again. Came for Epsom. Good value. Lovely old house. Reception and morning breakfast staff very helpful indeed. Soon found Hairdryer missing from room. Breakfast very good indeed. Best fresh mushrooms I've tasted, well done chef and staff. . Shame about poor state of outdoor pool. Beware Traffic calming in narrow roads nearby.
Very good breakfast and breakfast staff. Bedroom small, but very tastefully designed and comfortable. Fine for what we needed. |

Evening meal not up to same standard as breakfast, only basic choice, some untrained waiting staff, and menu let an otherwise good hotel down. Shower had narrow step up to it. Outdoor pool did not seem to be used. Beware traffic calming bollards in narrow roads nearby. Cost us and another visitor new tyres. Hotel staff very helpful in route to'Quickfit'. |

The service was quite good and the room had obviously been recently redecorated. But the room was very noisy as it was directly over the kitchen and the ventilation system vented just outside of one of the two windows of our room. Neither window could close properly. The staff in the kitchen seemed to have high morale...we could tell this as they seemed eager to sing along with the radio...we could hear every word. But it was the hotel itself that was spooky. It is clearly used as a corporate training location during the week -- no doubt that is why the weekend rates are so low. But it is a very odd looking hotel. The grounds were mature and beautiful and the entire place is located on a very quiet, residential area. But the buildings were very institutional. Our best guess is that the place was once an asylum or a hospital or sanitarium...and still retains the 'charm' of such buildings....yikes! And the bed was too small for two adults!
Building makes a better sanitarium than a hotel... |
