For a decent price, you get a humongous sitting/dining room, a decent kitchen, two televisions and a great location opposite the U.S. State Department. The restaurant is a LONG walk away, through the corridor and the garage, but that is the only negative I can think of.

Excellent choice for our stay in Washington D.C. Very friendly personel and environment. The rooms are really spacious and pleasantly decorated. Really a great hotel for the price offered.
A renovation is needed in the bathroom and in the doors. |

One can't help pay Washington prices and there was a reasonable discount offered. The rooms are wonderfully spacious and clean. The corridors are sadly austere in comparison. Decor is bland - not a single picture hangs to break the monotony. Some of the staff are very helpful - especially at the front desk, some are less so. Breakfast is disappointing - it is expensive, there are very few choices and there is no flexibility. A guest came in saying she just wanted an apple. The staff the previous day had let her have that for $1. When I was there, she was curtly and impolitely told that it's $8.35 for an apple like a full continental breakfast - there were no in-betweens. There was no fruit juice at breakfast - and the melon and pineapple that was offered was not ripe. Then a mother came in to ask if her very small kids would have to pay the same rate. The answer was yes. Still - it was worth staying there for the location - only half a mile from the White House.
Most of all the convenient location. |

As listed above - breakfast was poor. One would expect a little more style in decor at the price. |

I ended up not staying here as they had no onsite parking available - I had to park two blocks away at a hospital parking ramp. While the staff was pleasant enough and the room that I would have stayed in adequate, the parking was a big issue for me. I was able to find another hotel about a mile away for about the same price with secure, valet parking.

State Plaza was GREAT. They let us check in early, and they supply the rooms with Bath and Body Works products. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
Value, rooms were attractive, clean, comfortable; bathroom supplies were great. |
