Hotel Rezydent Sopot

What a great hotel - the whole team made us real hugely welcome from the reception, to the bar but in particular the restuarant... the best service I've ever experienced! The location of the hotel is perfect - (particularly as the station with easy access to Gdansk and Gydnia is just a stroll up the road. I have stayed at the Grand before in Sopot - but after this experience I will definately be choosing Rezydent ..

	The breakfast was a joy - worth getting up early for. The beach and station were key and close. The atomosphere was warm, and friendly - not a bit impersonal as some 5star hotels can be.
	Behind / below bar was untidy on each occasion I used it - could be kept more organised - but the bar guy was great, friendly and remembered our order every time!!

Single rooms are VERY small and shower cabins too - but clean and nice. The walls between the rooms are VERY thin. You can hear EVERYTHING in next room! The coffee at breakfast is often cold...:o) Reception will not exchange Euro to Zloty which I often need for taxidriver. But everything else is very nice. I basicly like your hotel.

Impressed by the traditional outlook and arrangement. I am very fond of such old style, perhaps because I am not young myself.

	To busy to think about that.
	Excessive price, but pardonable because it makes the booking available in high season on short notice.

At check-in, the receptionist was rude and not helpful. The A/C in the room I stayed did not work (the temperature outside was around 30 C). After reporting the problem to the front desk and requesting room transfer, nothing was done about it. I strongly discourage anyone from staying in this hotel. At check out, the only thing receptionst could offer was "we were sorry". That's obviously not enough to compansate for the very unpleasent stay at this hotel. Overall, the hotel is overpriced and overrated! It supposed to be a 5-star hotel but functions as mere 3-star.
