Philipburn Country House Hotel

A superb hotel in a beautiful location. Great food, great service, and a delighful room, and, in particular, very friendly and helpful staff who made the stay a joy. It was quiet with very few guests, so maybe when it's very busy it won't be so good, but we certainly had a great time.

	Friendly staff, excellent food, lovely room.
	No Scottish beer in the bar, though there were lots of superb whisky. The swimming pool was not open but then it was perhaps too early in the season.

Room we had was a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Sink in the room positioned in the corner and impossible to have a shave without standing at an angle. Television was very small and poor quality for the room rate we paid.

	Good location for our trip to Scotland and in a very pleasant parkland setting.

Very pleasant hotel. Difficult to find. Requires more sign posting on the road. The price of the dinner should be less expensive. The breakfast was superb.
