We came back after 17 years to take a break two days after celebrating our Golden Wedding and found it as good as before. We inspected the drawbridge were we stayed adjacent to on our first visit

A very nice atmosphere and helpful staff, able to give and take a joke

As with all British hotels, the bathroom facilities and provision for women to put on their makeup (lighting, table, position, etc.) were abysmal.

The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The building was fascinating.

The brochure giving the building's history was so poorly written it said literally nothing about the Old Court. It just concentrated on the Simcoes.

The relatively new owners have made a great start in improving this hotel and the recently acquired self catering apartments make a great addition. A couple of minor problems with the suite were handled very quickly and we were very impressed with the bottle of wine we received as an apology for things not being perfect! To fully justify the price we hope that the restaurant food can become more contemporary using more local produce. Great location with plenty to do and a very good hotel to return to each evening.

The care and attention given to us by Victoria (one of the owners) to ensure we had a perfect stay.

The blue neon sign on the outside - spoils a beautiful building.

A lovely hotel in a nice setting. Well staffed, excellent food served by very attentive staff. Very clean and comfortable and a very nice atmosphere.

The 16th Century Hotel building. Food and comfort except for comments below:

Our room (Number 5) was right above the bar and we were kept awake by the noise in there. We expected noise up until midnight but we were very annoyed that we had to ring down at a quarter to two in the morning to complain. My Wife has already sent an e mail to you regarding this problem. Despite this I think the hotel has such a lot to offer and We would perhaps return but we would be very careful not to book rooms 4 or 5.
