Holiday Inn Perugia

A pleasant surprise, lovely decor and charming staff

We enjoyed our stay very much.

Plus: A nice modern hotel. Staff is OK and contactable at all times. The medium sized but nice swimming pool is well maintenanced. Sufficient (free) parking space. Minus: Cleaning staff disregard the "do not disturb". Restaurant is poor: empty buffet items are not refilled during breakfasttime: at 9:00-9:30 no orange juice, eggs, bacon left. Payable WIFI in the rooms does not work. WIFI however does work in the lobby, bar etc where I found other internetters (probably having the same problem). Door access cards seem to have short memorylife (a couple of days) but staff is swift in reprogramming them. The bathroom is nice but the shower is a kind of economy type with weak jet, so hard to get soap out of the hair. Airconditioning is poor and only reduces room temperature by approx. 5 degrees which is not enough for the hot Italian summer temperatures. Conclusion: in general not really four stars and not attaining the Holiday Inn reputation.

excellent room, good location

The hotel more than met our expectations as we booked without actually seeing the property. It was quiet, the restaurant served a good breakfast (included in the rate) and we enjoyed two evening meals there also. The shuttle is a big plus as one can enjoy the quiet neighborhood of the hotel but also have transportation to and from Perugia's old town center.

	Friendly employees, the manager even printed out a local train schedule from the internet and helped with english for a young employee. Quiet location. Free Shuttle. Good rates.
	We were very satisfied.
