Well placed in a great area, friendly and helpful staff, lovely old building and decor. Stayed for 3 nights midweek and got an excellent deal for a place of such a high standard - highly recommended!

The surrounding area is lovely with plenty to check out, and easy for the city centre. The hotel's very child-friendly too, the staff were great with our 1-year-old son, making life easier for us! |

Would've liked some tea/coffee facilities in the room (although the abscence of these isn't just at this hotel but all 3 I've stayed at in Maastricht, and not a huge problem as there are cafes everywhere including the hotel's own). 2 single beds together instead of a double wasn't ideal, but again, not really a major problem as the room was large, very clean and comfortable. |

Although we had booked far in advance, we got a room at the busstation side of the hotel which we had not spot. This appeared to be very noisy as the busses started early in the morning and let their engines run because the temperatuur was rather low. |

The hotel's location was very practical for access to the city centre, the railway satation and the university. The room was cleaned to the required standard everyday. However, that's all the benefits that I would identify. On the other hand, I was appalled by the incompetency and the lack of basic social skills of one of the reception staff. The hotel was very uncomfortable at night due the noisy environment from the bus station. The ventilation system of the hotel is pretty poor; for instance even the non-smoking rooms had some hint of cigarette smoke smell.

I requested a non-smoking room but got a smoking room. I did not even receive an apology after mentioning this to the staff. . The rooms are not sound proof, e.g extensively noisy environment from bus station, and I think that the hotel is very overpriced for comfort. I ate at the restaurant of the hotel for dinner and I think that a waiting time of 40 minutes for a simple main course and 20 mins for a simple dessert is unacceptable for the price and the standard that you advertise |
