Mercure Grand Hotel Alfa

I had a lovely stay in the Grand Mercure. The staff, reception, bar, waiting, porters etc were all very friendly and polite. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

	Location. Mini bar in room. The environment friendly approach - if you want to reuse your towel, leave on the rail, if you want fresh towels, leave on the floor.
	I thought the food was a bit pricey, but I reckon all hotels are like that.

I had a couple of issues with this hotel. Firstly, there is no form of internet access available without payment (fixed or wifi). The charge for WiFi is €20 a day or €8 an hour. This seemed excessive to me. However, the hotel room was reasonably priced. The location of the hotel, opposite the bus station, made for a very noisy stay (even with the window closed). This hotel is also in one of the less desired locations and you will meet all varieties of human existence as you wander about the area. However, I did not feel threatened or worried in any sense. One gets the impression that Luxembourg is a very safe town. There is no specific reason but I wouldn't stay here again.

A good hotel, but nothing extraordinary.

	We never used minibar (actually it was closed with a key which we never saw), but they took money for a soft drink, which we've never drunk. Our arguments were ignored. So, the impression of the hotel was spoiled.

Excellent location, very comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast buffet.

	Staff at breakfast could have been more helpful and pleasant.It would be nice to have tea and coffee in the bedrooms.

Nice hotel, we will return, soner or later!

	Easy to find, easy connection via public transport: train and busses stop just in front of the hotel. A pleasant bar.
	Minus: the noise of the construction machines at 6 o' clock in the morning on the warf next door. The Internet should be free of charge for such a class of hotel.

Nice hotel. Breakfast was very complete and fresh. Clean and comfortable rooms. Location of the hotel is not that good: in the building block behind the hotel the red light district of Luxemburg is located.
