Hotel Le Royal

This relates to the reservation for Thomas Young, 2 Palmerston Gardens, Dublin 6 from 14-20 March 2008. The trip was half leisure and half business. The Head Concierge, Simon, was particularly helpful and attentive in relation to car hire and touring Luxembourg. Despite comment below, staff in the breakfast room were most pleasant and courteous. I have stayed in Le Royal over several years and it remains my favourite.

• Pool/relaxation area. Shuttle bus service. Newspapers.
• Tea is very poor. Coming from the more British tea-making tradition, staff should be trained in that method - heat the teapot, use boiling water, stir the tea! I dis see others in the dining room giving up on the issue.

Restaurant Pomme Cannelle, main course was good, although it took 1hrs 30 mins to be served. The surprise was the Irish Coffee, which in no way resembled Irish Coffee.

It seems very silly that their main restaurant is closed both Saturday and Sunday.
