The Cumberland - A Guoman Hotel

Overall was better than expected - been some years since I last stayed at the Cumberland and decor is much improved. Staff friendliness was very good in a highly professional way. I did not get change to use the restaurants for dinner, but breakfast was ok as far as buffets go.

my start was not so good, wrong floor and wrong cardnumber[109] was other building so, to the other building,then no function because number should be 1109,not 109, then already in bed, 11.30 pm , room very noisy because of the space next door, so called for other room, so hat to pack everthing in middle of the night and moved to the sixed floor, all not nice for 1 day stay!

• location and room ,also hall/bar are very nice though they all where very cold,
• not realy,but the price is very high for a normal stay

Hotel a little too modern for my taste. Room lighting is poor and although we complained about burnt out bulb, it was not replaced. The shower is badly designed very difficult for user to reach the taps from outside of the shower cabin.Location made us for these shortfalls.

just we prefare that they change the bed sheet dailly we like the brakefast to be inclode the charge

Overall i'm well pleased

I was actually very disappointed overall with the hotel, having stayed at the Cumberland 15 years ago, when the hotel was friendly & welcoming , the staff were helpful & the restaurants were busy, but not so noisy ,and was value for money.I soppose it's a sign of the times!!!!----by the way I am not old by any means, but you only seem to cater for ,"young trendy people" Needless to say next time I visit London I will be staying elsewhere.

• The room was clean

A great modern hotel located opposite Marble Arch with a very large lobby. Although we had issues at check in with our booking being lost in their system, the staff were a lot more helpful at checkout. The hotel was good value for money and had great airconditioning which was refreshing during the humid London weather. The room we were allocated was next to an airline crew lounge so was very noisy at night when we were trying to sleep.

• The hotel had lost our booking that we had booked 6 months earlier. They struggled then with their computer system to provide us with a reservation even though we had the confirmation with us.
