Montcalm Hotel

this is my 3rd stay in the last year, and I looked forward to my recent return. by and large, things were fine, but both check-in and check-out were frosty. the female desk staff on both occasions were rather unwelcoming indeed, unsmiling. except I know the hotel and like it, this would have put me off ever returning - it felt that they didn't really want me to be there. the room was rather small, and I did request online as spacious a room as possible, but when I phoned down to see if a larger room room could be found, I was told I was lucky to get a room so early (1pm) and I'd have to pay an upgrade as I was only there for one night. Again, hardly the most accommodating attitude. and someone's toenails clippings on my bedroom floor didn't exactly win me over either. and had the minibar been stocked, I probably would have availed of it. in 3 trips, this was my first negative experience in this hotel. concierge and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, and I would return, hoping that this was a one-off.

We had a wonderful stay at the Montcalm and definitely would recommend it to our friends if they travel to London. It is not central, but with The Tube and Taxi Service, you can go anywhere easily and quickly. We definitely shall return upon our next trip to London environs.

	The facility was quiet and had access to many good restaurants within walking distance. Also, accessibility to shopping.

Highly recommandable, very well located in a quiet place in front of Hyde parc, pleasant and undoubtely typical. Ideal for 2 adults, however room full when one additional (chargeable) bed for a kid.

I booked this hotel at the recommendation of a friend who stayed previously. I wanted to stay somewhere that was reasonably priced and in the Marble Arch area. This hotel provided me with both. Great recommendation, I found the hotel itself was excellent. All the staff in the concierge were extremely friendly and welcoming, nothing seemed too much trouble for any of them. The weekend was going to be special as it was a day that I proposed to my girlfriend, I’m pleased to say she accepted. At the time of booking I made the hotel aware that I was going to do this and on arrival I was told I was to be given a free room upgrade. The room was fantastic, it was such a shame that we had so much already organised as we could have easily spent the night in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making our stay in London a great one. The whole process from booking the hotel to checking in was very smooth. Excellent service all round.

Excellent attention to detail everywhere (choice of fresh flowers, for example)

Great location and the staff are lovely. The price and the room sizes left alot to be desired. If you needs the place as a last resort stop over for the night its a good bet but there is certainly more value for money at the other places around town

This hotel was a good choice for us because of the location and also because it is a quiet place to stay in Central London.
