On my first visit I had a double room which was worth my money, the single room though was not worth the money I paid. The shower head needs to be repaired. It is pointless to insist on the shower curtain being in the tub when the water spills over the top of the curtain.
The tea and the cookies. A pleasure after a day of walking |

Location of room 404 was a bit scary and when one of the staff knocked on the door of room 403 I kept on saying who's there until he told me he was knocking on the other door |

It is very centrally located and booking in advance the rates are very good for central London.

Hotel is conveniently situated a few minutes walk from Oxford street, with car parking opposite (expensive). Refurbishment of ground floor not very inviting for a Christmas break, but staff were always helpful. Rooms were clean and adequate although a little "tired"

very well situated |

the price of the breakfast is too high for what it is. so, after the first morning, we had breakfast outside for a lower price and a better food. |

Remodeling at time of stay, no info on this before arrival. Room small and drafty (but ok. Bathroom small and poorly cleaned. Did not try breakfast. Overall impression ok - i was not there to enjoy myself.

I left a note at the hotel complaining on a number of matters but so far the hotel management has not even bothered to come back to me and apologise. The attitude of the reception staff left much to be desired; the works in hand in the lounge caused inconvenience; one window in our room was warped and let in a cole draught; and the A/C unit fan was very noisey. To cap it all the reception staff were not even aware of the hotel layout as we were told there were 7 steps to our room when, in fact, we found 12 (not a pleasant surprise for a couple in their mid-seventies)! These irritating factors made our four-night stay an unpleasant one and we have no intention of returning to the Mostyn although we and other family members had been there several times before last dec.

the location is the main advantage of the hotel. the rooms are a little small! renovations were being carried out while we were there so in future it will look more modern.

there could have been more supervision regarding the cleanlin ess |
