The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good plenty of choice and excellent service. Secure parking.

We had a standard double room and it was very small no room to move. There was no air con so very hot. Difficult to use coffee facilities because of the position of sockets and size of room. furniture very old.Would only stay again in a bigger room but would be concerned on price.

Had a two night stay during July 2008. The hotel was at full capacity with the British Open Golf Championship and The Tall Ships Race bringing visitors flooding into the city. This reflected in the price per night, but the hotel was very near the Royal Philarmonic Hall, and I wanted accommodation within walking distance for a show called the John Lennon Songbook, starring Curtis Stigers, Claire Martin and Mark McGann. I choose the hotel solely on its location. We booked an upgraded room, which was lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is good value for money and staff are attentive to your needs. There are no lifts, this being several old, terraced properties that are joined together by doors etc, and the porters were in constant attendance to carry baggage from early morning onwards. I could not fault this hotel for providing clean, warm and friendly accommdation but I recommend a lick of paint on the outside to give a better first impression to guests. I would stay again without hesitation, but would hope for more competitive room rates under normal circumstances.

Friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast.

Lots of twisting staircases and corridors, due to the nature of the properties, but if you have a lower floor, this lessens the impact on ones knees.

Hotel was clean which is important. The room however was incredibly small and the size of the corridors must be very close to breaching regulations. I personally wouldn't stay again.

The minute I arrived I was treated as if I was an old friend. I was immediately upgraded to an executive room, which was lovely. The room was comfortable, the food was delicious, the staff was beyond helpful and friendly and the location was superb. I am so pleased I chose to stay at The Feathers, Liverpool!

The staff, the food, the room

Some of the satellite channels in my room did not come in (not a big deal, really)

Hotel is well located for Theatres/University- all staff friendly. There is little else to recommend this "time warp" warren of badly decorated rooms.I believe there are some newer(hopefully bigger) rooms but if you are going to pay the rate requested for these it would make sense to go elsewhere where there are more/better facilities.

Friendly staff/location

No lift-room in attic described as standard double-thankfully I was travelling solo.A second person or substantial luggage would have been virtually impossible. On arrival this tiny room eas grossly overheated and staff member immediately turned it off as it made it even more unbearable.I did complain and was "offered" an executive room at around twice the price.

room too small, check out time too early. car parking inconvenient due to double parking and being made to get up early to move vehicle. view from window to council flats. stayed in a delux room which was over priced. No lift however crazy number of stairs in a rabbit warren.

The night out in liverpool.

My husband and I had rented an apartment in Chester for a week and during that week we celebrated our 51st Wedding Anniversary and took the opportunity of visiting Liverpool (somewhere I had always wanted to visit.) We arrived by train so wanted to leave our overnight case. The receptionist was very nice and saw that we were both in our 70's and said our room would be ready by 3pm. When we arrived back after "sightseeing" we were shown to the 4th floor, up five flights of stairs. I am registered disabled but am not in a wheelchair so found this so very difficult. I think the Hotel has rooms for hire off the internet and rooms for hire by other means as we saw a difference in carpet and decor on the 1st floor (up one flight of stairs.) We booked a twin executive. God help us if we had booked an ordinary twin, I think it would have been a rabbit hutch. Anyway, I think from now on I shall not book through the internet as I do think we got a good deal. Good for company staff, in Liverpool for business maybe but not a Hotel for mature people such as us.

Lovely clean sheets and towels.

Measly bitty pieces of soap and a measly measly sachet of shampoo/bathfoam. My husband had a warm bath but there was no hot water left for me to have a shower.
