Hotel Mundial

The reason this hotel was chosen was for a special birthday( my wife's 50th) and the Varanda Da Lisboa restaurant seemed the ideal place to celebrate on the day. We were not disappointed. The food, service and not forgetting the wine were very good. The staff were very helpful, especially the doorman who arranged for us to reverse back up the street in order to gain entry to the car park. The only thing to watch, for future guests is which way to go when leaving the hotel. Turn left to get to the main squares, do not go up passed Praca da Martim Moniz as its the downtown area and not for visitors.

	The hotel restaurant was superb
	The room was on the small side but it was clean comfortable and we did get it on a winter special rate.

Hotel in ideal location very central rooms very nice, only comment is the small size of our bathroom and the amont of water that goes onto floor when you have a shower! Also one of our party was pick-pocketed outside the hotel whilst waiting for a tram to the Castle. There is no warning of this until you get on the tram which was too late! It would be good if Staff at the hotel could warn of this some how as we were told by the very friendly police that this was the worst place in Lisbon to be pick pocketed.

	Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast. Very Clean. Lovely rooftop terrace with overview of city.
	Noisy with windows open but it is in a city! Small but adequate bathroom but did flood foor with water from shower.

Found the desk staff very off hand,otherwise we had a pleasant stay,breakfast was well presented, Hotel was situated in a good spot for exploring, rooms were clean and comfortable

It was Ok first of all because children did not pay for their stay there

It was a fantastic hotel. The staff was very helpful. I was looking for a hotel that was clean, comfortable and in a good location and this hotel exceeded what I hoped for.

	The reception staff helped us with all our questions about Lisbon and the buffet breakfast included in our stay was a perfect start to our family adventure.
	It was a bit hard to find for a first-timer to the city but when we asked directions enroute, the locals were fantastic with thier directions.

I found the hotel very satisfactory. However, I had one problem. I have a very bad rheumatism, and the mattress was far too hard for me. The room maid was VERY helpful, and she found some extra bedspreads to put on top of the mattress. The mattress was still too hard, and I would recommend the hotel to buy some soft "over-mattresses" to put on top of the hard ones.

	I liked the location very much, and the breakfasts were excellent. That was the only meal we ate at the hotel. In additon to the location, the rates were the main reason for choosing your hotel.
