Nice little hotel with a staff that went out of their way to please us. For example, the bed was too firm and I woke up with a terrible backache. I asked for a top pad, and it was there for the following night.

We went to the resaurant for dinner on our first night in Lisboa. Quite early, ca. 19:30, to see if they had a table for us. We were almost scolded by the maitre'd for not having made reservation. We said we could go elsewhere, but one of the waiters came and took us to a table. The maitre'd kept on haranguing us about lack of space for the many hotel guests and reservations. It ended up with the restaurant not being even half full all the time while we were dining. |

It is a very clean and nicely decorated hotel, both the lobby and the rooms. It is a 10 minute walk from the historical center in a very quiet little street. The staff was very hepful in giving suggestions for visits and restaurants.

When writing to ask some questions from the front desk, I mentioned that we were married in Lisbon 27 years ago! Upon arrival, we found ourselves in a beautiful suite with a terrace and a champagne bottle and strawberries! So sweet! Lovely room, well laid-out - everything one could wish for. We received help with booking and collecting train-tickets AND a packed full breakfast picnic (as we left VERY early in the morning)!

The location is excellent - walking distance to Baixa/Chiado. Not far from train-stations/airport. The staff is service-minded without being fawning. Very helpful and caring. |

Excellent hotel and service apart from one person. Good location but further than the five minute walk claimed from Baixa, but great for metro. Very good room clean and comfortable.

Nothing about the hotel but the last night in the restaurant (18th July) was spoilt by the head waiter who had an attitude problem, both to us and his excellent staff, being more concerned with room service, ruining the main meal and leaving us waiting over half an hour for the bill, which was wrong and corrected by a member of staff.How he would have coped had there not been only us in the restaurant, I don't know. A far cry from the head waiter on our first night who was superb. |

The Aviz hotel is a very nice hotel, situated very well in the city of lissabon. The carpets on the stairs and in the hall are soft to walk on! At our arrival we were assisted by the doorman very nicely. He told us the most important things of the hotel. We immidiately felt at ease. The room was very nice decorated and clean. We highly can recommanded this hotel to stay in.

The room, the breakfast( good choose of all kind of things to have for breakfast, and the helpfullness of the staff. Also the information in the hall, about what to do in Lissabon,was very handy. |
