We stayed here in July 2008. The hotel has an excellent indoor and outdoor pool, There is an ample supply of sun loungers. I especially liked the wicker couches complete with cushions and adjustable sun shade located by the pool. Towels were supplied at the pool and a large changing room completed the pampered feeling. The kitchen is fitted to a high standard with integrated fridge-freezer and washer-dryer, The ceramic hob and oven provide full cooking facilities. There is a complementary shuttle bus daily to Lisbon with drop off at Belem departing at 11am. There is a frequent bus service to Lisbon – we evensince we had lots of time returned to the airport by bus – first 11 and then Aerobus 91 The hotel is very much in the suburbs with nothing of visual interest within walking distance. However an advantage the plentiful supply of local shops and restaurants. On leaving the hotel grounds turn right and walk along rua Manuel Da Silva Gaio. At the end of the road cross over Av Dupue de Loule and proceed along Av Dom Pedro. There is a supermarket towards the end of Ave Dom Pedro. On the way you pass small shops and restaurants. The Bus to Lisbon number 11 can be got from here. This bus leaves you at Marques de Pompal. Just before Av Dom Pedro ends turn right at Rua Actriz Maria Matos. At the end of this short street is a great restaurant called “A Grelha”. It is actually on Rua Antero de Quental but is visible on turning off Ave Dom Pedro. This restaurant cooks the food over a charcoal fire. They do a special of a full chicken with chips & rice for two costing only 11 euro. With a bottle of wine at just over 5 Euro it’s a steal. A complete meal for only 16 Euro. One waiter speaks English and can help to translate the Menu. There is a full range of meat and fish to choose from – its displayed in the window at the entrance. The guitar playing painting of Bob Dylan was painted by the helpful English speaking waiter. Continue to the end of Ave Dom Pedro turn right continue up this street and straight through the junction brings you to the main street of Linda a Velha. This is Av 26 de Abril. There is a large supermarket Pingo Doce and also the German store Lidel about 300m from the junction. The total walk from Lidel to the hotel is 20-25 minutes. Just before Pingo Doce on the other side of the road is a Chinese restaurant, Wine at 4 Euro and prawns on a sizzling iron plate at under 7 Euro makes the walk worth it. At the start of Av 26 de Abril you will have passed two other restaurants at the junction. None of the restaurants jump out at you – no picture menus or even menus in English but armed with a phrase book you will be well rewarded both in food quality and very reasonable price,

Perfect location, quite and very nice view from the rooms. Plenty of parking lots. Excelent service.
Everything was good. Breakfast bufet is ok. People at the reception kind and friendly. |
