Hotel Ibis Liege Centre Opéra

The hotel is well located almost in the centre of a city not really worth visiting for more than two hours. Staff were very helpful with fluent English and the breakfast was adequate. Parking was in a public underground car park so try to get a place near to the private entrance door to the elevator that serves the hotel. You will see it in the furthest left hand corner when driving in. We had a choice of 2 rooms and inspected them both. One had an opening window and no fan and the other had a fan but no opening window. We had the opening window room that let in around 200 small flying insects that climbed down the walls and onto the beds. Helpfulness of the staff went further in lending me a commercial vacuum cleaner and the small creatures did not survive its powerful effects when I wielded that devastating machine like a light sabre. The choice then became insects or heat. We opted for a bit of warmth. The room was L-shaped with one bed around the corner from the other. No satellite TV, so visitors should speak any language but English. But then, even in Italy and with satellite TV, for how many hours can you watch CNN without screaming?

	The staff were excellent and I would advise the hotel in that location for shopping (not very inspiring).
	Nothing really. We were both quite amused on arrival. Parking right outside, we got out of the car and were immediately bestowed with mainly white, and a bit of black, deposits over our clean T-shirts by courtesy of a pidgeon perched on a rather low lamp post. With the insects and the pidgeon, any faults with the hotel went unnoticed.
