Comte d'Empúries

We were visiting Empuriabrava so that my husband could take a skydiving course. It was envisaged that while he was out during the day our teenage children and I would do some sight-seeing or lazing around on the beach or by the pool. The weather was too cold for lazing and in any case the pool was in shade for much of the day during April. The apartment (4-6 persons) was basic but adequate, though the balcony only received sun after 4.00 pm. There were 4 of us and I would not have liked there to have been 6 people staying as the convertible sofas in the living room were extremely uncomfortable both to sit and to sleep on - the matresses were too thin (possibly too old). The door of the ice-box compartment of the fridge was missing, which meant that any liquids in the fridge froze overnight. It was fine as basic holiday accommodation where we were not intending to spend much time.

	It was convenient for the beach, shops and the skydiving centre. The reception staff were very helpful.
	The 10.00 am checkout time was too early for us. We asked for a later checkout time but was told it wasn't possible. We visited the 'restaurant' for breakfast on the first day; the food was fine but the ambience was canteen-like. A lot could be done with the decor to make it more attractive. We didn't go there a second time.

Great location and excellent value for money. Would definitely come back if in the area again, but not in July/August due to lack of air conditioning.

We had a ok appartment but the kitchen could need some improvements.
