When we arrived at the hotel we were told we had to go to another hotel! we then waited for 20 minutes for someone to explain why, when the girl came it turned out it was not us that had to move, which was a bit frustrating, we also put the notice on our door for breakfast (which should have been included in the cost) but it did not arrive in the morning! and when we called breakfast had finished? I felt it was not value for money, I havestayed in 4 star hotels before and did not rate this hotel at all.
The meal was lovely. |

on arrival we were put into a really bad room with a conecting door to another room that was occupied. there was no sound insulation so we asked to be moved the room was totally unacceptable. we were moved to a much better room. will not be staying at the roxburgh again.

No adverse comments. It was a trip down memory lane as my wife and I stayed there on 21 december in 1957 which was our wedding day,so it was a golden wedding celebration. No open fire or stone hot water bottles this time but modern comforts and Scottish hospitality second to none.
The fact that we were perfectly happy with all aspects of our stay. |

This was a surprize birthday present for my sister-in -law and I was disappointed when we had no hot water on the first night until around 8pm which resulted in us being late for a dinner reservation elsewhere. The second night we had to complain again as we had no hot water either although we did not have to wait as long. I thought I would have been offered a reduction in the price on settling up on day of departure but sadly not !
The staff were friendly and helpful. |

The hotel was chosen entirely for its location, as a conference I was attending was being held there. I arrived late, and left early, without breakfast as it was not included in the rate. Consequently, an expensive bed for the night only!
I found the additional charge for payment by credit card irritating and petty, and it made the (further) optional small donation to charity seem misplaced (and mistimed). |

on first arrival I was given an extremely tiny attic room at the top of the hotel and the lift was out of order. I have mild asthma and by the time I got to the room could hardly breathe. The room itself was too small, old and not pleasant at all. However when I complained we were upgraded and moved to a much superior room which was very nice. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Good central location.

This hotel is just off Prince's Street in a pretty square. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel which we found very comfortable.
Location and the huge bed! (This was an unexpected surprise as the hotel adverstised the bed as double, yet it was easily a queen size.) |

Having to take your own bags to the room. There were a few scrapes on the walls where furniture had been. |
