The hotel has the beneift of being very central. Staff were friendly and food was reasonable. However, even allowing for the fact that the building is an old one the hotel overall was a bit tatty and badly in need of renovation. There was no airconditioning in the room and as the weather was warm this made it quite unpleasant particularly at night
Central. Nice staff |

Quite run down. No airconditioning. Room faced onto main road - choice between opening window and being kept awake by traffic or closing and being kept awake by the heat due to no aircon. |

The reception staff were most helpfull. We think perhaps the decor could do with a little upgrading.
the food was notquite upto the standard of when we were there in January. eg.the soup was not very warm.ONE piece of melba toast with a generous amount of pate. |

Very nice hotel. Staff and car park were the most appreciated points. The meal was acceptable and the rooms clean and spacious.
Car park and closeness to the town |
|
Very acceptable 3 star hotel. Bar decoration and ombience could be made more friendly, |

Having worked for the TB I tend to make mental note of what to expect and I must say I was so pleasantly surprised to find all the ingredients for the 'perfect inn' . The only failing (which is in my opinion) was the staff. Not the front of house staff but the restaurant where the lack of training showed. My daughter and I had steak for dinner which was decidedly 'high' it had a smell and a taste that wasn't pleasant. When i pointed this out to the waitress she just took the plates away with the meat uneaten. When she bought our desert she didn't apologise or mention the problem so I asked if she had said anything to the chef but she just shrugged her shoulders and said that the chef said" steak sometimes smells like that " and then preceded to take our dessert order !! I was quite amazed at the attitude because clearly if we had eaten the meat we would probably have both been ill. I didn't want to make a fuss but if I came again I would be wary of eating in the restaurant.

A hotel which seems to have seen better days. The room I was in was not of a high standard with very creaky floorboards and a door which did not lock securely. The creaky floorboards in the room above and in the corridor outside were also a problem in terms of external noise. The breakfast was above average.
