We enjoyed our stay very much indeed, The Manager is absolutely excellent,and made us very welcome, we understand he has only recently taken it over, we found all the staff very helpful and polite. The food was very good and us and our guest enjoyed the menu, the atmosphere was very friendy with the regulars at the pub at all times. The breakfast was plentiful and a great choice to start the day with. We were very comfortable in our room, but did notice that the bathroom needs a little attention in DIY & refurbishment,because that would make everything look cleaner, but I hasten to add it didn't bother us, the facilities in our room were totally functional, and we intend to stay there again. Everywhere else very clean indeed! We found the Manager and his staff worked very hard and nothing was too much trouble to keep their customers happy. I will be recommending The Highwayman Hotel to my friends and family!

	Perhaps cater more for vegetarian main course, I'm not complaining as there were plenty of vegetables at the carvery, but from your website there doesn't seem much choice for vegetarians like myself, this could loose you bookings for anyone staying for more than a weekend, as most people prefer to eat where they stay!

After reading other reviews I didn't anticipate a great deal, and I wasn't disappointed. Though the staff were very friendly and my welcome was warming on arrival, the room was as I expected. I wouldn't say it was dirty, but the dampness shown on the window frames and the base of the bed. As it was only one night I wouldn't grumble.

For the price it was what you might expect - very basic. However the beds could be more comfortable and it could have been cleaner. toilet was not fixed to the floor in one of the rooms. Shower was very powerful. Did not eat here so cannot comment on the food
