On the whole, I was very pleased with my stay. It was my first stay here and I would certainly consider booking again.

The room was lovely, the staff were pleasant & helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Unfortunately, when I was ready for bed, I discovered the bed sheet had marks on it which looked like dried blood. I phoned housekeeping but there was an answerphone as it was after midnight.

Best hotel we have ever stayed at in the UK so far.

Staff most helpful of any hotels in which we had stayed. The atmosphere was informal and put you at ease from the moment you check in.

room quite dark, would not want to spend long time in there. When neighbours used water in bathroom we could not hear ourselves think it was so loud, the otherside of our headboard to be exact. not enough tea supplied in room. Breakfast fab as expected.

convenient for our night out

We were going to a concert in the Cardiff arena, so this hotel was in an ideal location. I went for a suite as it was my boyfriends 30th and i wanted to treat him. Our room was fantastic. It was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. We ordered room service for lunch, we didn't have to wait long at all for it and it was delicious food. We ate in the restaurant the first night and the food was fantastic. We have eaten in some top class restaurants and haven't had as good. The total cost of the meal was nothing in comparison to the quality. We were one of the last couples down for breakfast in the morning. But we were not rushed. The complete opposite in fact. We were looked after very well. Fresh toast was made as the other toast had been sitting there a while, fresh eggs were cooked (not at our request)as it was a buffet breakfast and it had been out for a while.

The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Our stay couldn't have been any better. The only shame was that we were not staying any longer.

Very welcoming front of house staff. Rooms excellent, ditto bathroom and fixtures etc. Common areas sparkling in their cleanliness (ladies loos near conferencing rooms on ground floor are a joy to use. Good choice for breakfast and well presented. Small point - hot food was not very hot. Hotel in good position for walking out into town or visiting Cardiff Bay.

The welcoming staff, the immediate help with luggage out of the car and up to room, the smiling staff at breakfast and at checkout time.

A shoe shine kit would have been useful.

excellent hotel, very comfortable, very friendly staff

I asked for a quiet room and have never stayed in a city centre hotel in such a silent room. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the towels were lovely and big and luxurious.

The temperature of the room only went down to 19 degrees which, for us, was too warm and the window only opened marginally.

This is a well-run hotel with accommodation of a high standard. We found the decor rather stark and uninviting, but uniform in style, with some nice modern art work. Beds were comfortable and staff very pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient for St. David's Hall, etc. The car parking arrangement is not perhaps ideal, as one cannot be flexible about the time of leaving - we wanted to load the car and then look around Cardiff, but found we had to depart as soon as the ticket was endorsed at the hotel.

The friendly helpful staff and comfortable beds.Excellent breakfast selection, especially fresh fruit, but cereal range a little predictable.Could have done with an oat-based alternative ( eg 'Oatibix').

The high-tech decor - rather cold and angular and not at all cosy! The shower and other 'gadgets' seemed to favour style over efficacy.Shower didn't work properly and we were at first baffled by the awkwardly-designed taps. The bathroom fittings reminded one of a dentists' surgery! ( especially the hand basin!)Cupboard door handles too small to grip. The lift was far too talkative!
