Thon Hotel Bristol

We reserved a non-smoking room but it was very obvious the previous occupants had smoked in that room, so the very helpful front desk clerk and gave us a new room and had all our bags taken to the new room while we were out at dinner. We were there in July - it was very hot. There is no air conditioning in the hotel so we had to leave our window open. It was hard to sleep because of the noise from the bar down on the street. We always fall asleep easily even on trains and planes but we were glad we had earplugs that night. The room was very clean. The location is great; within walking distance from the train station and the fish market. The Tourist Info office is just across from the fish market - very helpful staff.

OK hotel,,GOOD location, good breakfast,, a small bar in the reseption is what I like.

The hotel reception has not a nice aspect, the lifts are dirty and the room was so small.

The hotel is like your average Norwegian hotel, overpriced and not up to European standards.

	Only English TV station was BBC and it had no sound!! Breakfast buffet was meager in its selections. Bedroom had an extra bed that made it smaller. Bathroom was small and cramped.

It was a short stay, i reserved on internet and all went well. Location was excellent and atmosphere was warm.

	Staff was very friendly and helpful.
	While sleeping time after midnight the TV woke me up with a message that the remote control could never retrieve; On check out I had to pay for a film i never ordered or watched. However I paid without complaint :)
