the room was dirty and the curtains were hanging of off the rail.we complained and were immediatly given an upgrade .we spoke to the genral manager who said he was getting 12 complaints a day and that he desperatly needed the money from the parent company for a refurb.

The Hotel was in a perfect position for town and walks along the river.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpfull and the location overlooking the river is very pleasant for a town centre hotel. |

The bedrooms are long overdue for a complete overhaul with cracked tiles, cracked toilets, toilet that wont flush properly, extremely noisy heating pipes, damaged chairs, ripped wallpaper, non functioning bathroom ventilators etc |

Having stayed in various Park Inn Hotels around the country, this one seems not to have been refurbished yet, but in mo way was it terrible. It was on a parr with other hotels we have stayed in around the country and the package for the weekend was a lot cheaper. The staff were very friendly, attentive and accomodating. We had no problems at all and the room itself was of a good size, with the river view (requested on booking). The location was fantastic and was impressed with the service and view in the restaurant. It was an extremely calming location whilst being right in the centre of town.

Its not a dislike, but a suggestion, as we would love to stay there again. The shower kept on fluctuating in temp and inorder to get the tempreture really warm, we ran the tap in the sink or flushed the loo! The bathrooms definately need refurbishing. It seemed as if we had to twin beds and they had been pushed together, as the dip in the middle was extremely pronounced and caused my partners back to play up a bit. If it was not a twin but a double, then the mattresses need to be firmer. |

Location was very good and Rooms were fine.
Having requested a non-smoking room we were given a room which smelt very strongly of smoke. I asked Reception if they could change it for a non-smoking and they were able to do so (dealing with it in a very pleasant and gracious manner). |

The only negative comment i have is that the evening meal took an awful long time to arrive with long intervals between courses (lasted from approx 7.45 to 10.30pm and restaurant was almost empty). |
