Main reason for choosing Dunlay Guest House: Rate
The owners offered us a sister hotel around the corner with a slightly bigger room so we took that. Hotel was being refurbed but room was ok.

Main reason for choosing Dunlay Guest House: Reputation
This was our second time at this guest house and I would recommend it to anyone. On both occasions we stayed in the outside annex.
We had a separate entrance to our rooms and as a result we did not bother any other guests when we returned to our room later on that night.

Hotel room was very small. Decor, although very nice was maybe just a bit 'over the top' for size of room.
Clean and friendly
Full length mirror would have been nice in room. Also in dining room (which was quite cramped) I would have thought that one table with 'choices' of cereals and yoghurts and bread rolls would have been better than all set out in each place.

Main reason for choosing Dunlay Guest House: Rate
The room was smaller than expected. One wall was covered with a mirror, in an attempt to make it more spacious - not very cosy. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good, although the dining room was very small, and you had to move your chair every time someone was passing. The guest house charged our credit card two weeks in advance, which caused confusion. We had a nice stay, but my opinion is that the rating was too high, four stars should have been three.

It was romantic, wonderfull, friendly. The service was good... a nice place to stay. It was all we need - a last night after a trip of 3 days. It was a perfect end of our stay in Scotland. Unforgettable.

We only stayed one night, but as we liked the location and the kind of rooms, we would like to come for a bit longer with our friends, for ex. in september ...or next spring.
Beautiful decoration of the room, very nice breakfast.
We didn't get any information about the possibilities where we could have a decent meal in the evening;as a lot of restaurants in the city-centre were closed, we had difficulties to find something.

We missed very much having a lounge in the house.
Not much to do there apart from sleeping, since there was no place to sit (except in the double bed)
Dogs walking about in the same room we had breakfast in.
There was some trouble with the central heating one evening. The inconvenience did not lead to any reduktion of the rate. Instead, we were promised reduction if we came back.
