The hotel is a remodeled, original 19th century post station. We do our best and will go the extra mile to create the most comfortable and welcoming hotel in the whole region. Our hotel is associated with a warm homely atmosphere rather than a typical uniform and minimalist one, which is a common practice in the industry. At your disposal, we have 32 extraordinary rooms (including 5 suites, located in the oldest wing of the building), 2 restaurants, a pub, a hotel club room, and an open air barbecue hut. The hotel is situated on the main street of the city (very good access from all directions), 4 kilometres from the National Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau. Monitored parking is available for hotel guests 24 hours, as well as a garage for bicycles and motorbikes. Stara Poczta is a fine-dining restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, serving traditional Polish and European cuisine.
Trattoria Viva offers great Italian dishes, coffees and mouth-watering desserts. It is divided into 2 sections, one of which occupies the restored 19th-century basement. Al fresco dining in the garden is available during the spring-summer season.
U Szwejka is a cosy cellar pub adorned with stone walls and original décor items.

We organise many tours on request with an English-speaking guide. Destinations include the Wieliczka Salt Mine, Kraków sightseeing, Wadowice (where Pope John Paul II was born), the Paulite Monastery in Częstochowa, the Dunajec River Gorge and many other destinations.

Oswiecim - Memorials for the local Jewish population. National Museum KL Auschwitz Birkenau.
Cracow - Former capitol of Poland with monuments famous all around the world (Wawel Castle, Old Town, Market Square and Jewish district of Kazimierz).
Wieliczka - The old salt mine.
Pszczyna - The beautiful residence (castle) of the Hochberg family with a breathtaking interior.
Tychy - The old brewery where some of the best Polish beer is still being produced.
Tarnowskie Gory - The old iron mine, the tour contains a trip by boat across floating mining tunnels.
Wadowice - The city where Pope John Paul II was born and raised.
Czestochowa - The most famous Polish sanctuary with the "Black Madonna" painting.

Room information :
At your disposal, we have 32 extraordinary rooms, including 5 suites, located in the oldest wing of the building, 5 extended standard rooms, 17 standard rooms and 5 single rooms (in the attic).
We offer functionally furnished rooms equipped with one or two beds (double or twin), bathroom (with shower), satellite TV, telephone, internet (free of charge) and DVD player (only in the apartments).
An extra bed (3rd bed) is only available in apartments or in some extended standard rooms.

Travel information :
The Galicja Hotel is situated on the main street (4 kilometres from the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum) in the centre of Oświęcim (about 4 kilometres from the railway station and 0.5 kilometres from the bus station), 50 kilometres from the Kraków-Balice Airport and 70 kilometres from the Katowice Pyrzowice Airport.
Oświęcim has train connections to Krakow, Vienna, and Prague.
We recommend a hotel transfer or book a taxi at our reception desk. We do not recommend airport and station taxis as they charge more.
