Kołobrzeg is a picturesque spa town located on both banks of the Parsęta River in Western Pomerania enjoying a thousand-year old tradition. Bathers and tourists find its coastal location, microclimate with healing qualities and beautiful, clean, 6 km-long sandy beach the most attractive.
The town has suffered destruction many times over the past centuries, so the few remaining historic buildings were restored and partly rebuilt. The most important of them are the Town Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, a medieval townhouse which today houses the Museum of Polish Arms, Gunpowder Tower and the Knight’s Academy. In the summer numerous cultural, sports and entertainment events take place.
