Indonesian cuisine in Amsterdam

Temo Doeloe in Amsterdam offers a fantastic selection of delectable Indonesian cuisine.

Hailing from Javav, Sumatra and Bali, dishes here include a host of favourites including a range or satays, beef in a coriander cream sauce and gado gado salad (vegetables in a peanut sauce).

Those with a palate less suited to very spicy food can opt for the more mild dishes available and the level of spiciness is signalled on the menu.

A word of warning from Concierge.com comes with the choosing of the terlaloe pedis, the spiciest plates, which heeds tasters to "hang on for the ride of your life".

And desserts also fail to disappoint, with options such as fried banana flambe and cinnamon Indonesian cake on offer.

The cosy venue is within easy reach of the Rembrandtplein.

Amsterdam is famous for its great selection of Indonesian restaurants and the Netherlands is credited with the invention of the Indonesian Rice Table, consisting of rice accompanied by a number of small side dishes.
