Ellersly House Hotel

All of the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. The executive double rooms are contemporary in design and have views over the gardens. Each of these rooms has a super-king-size bed, a mini-fridge and upgraded comforts and amenities including bathrobe and slippers.

The Gallery Restaurant serves meals from 12:00 until 21:00.

Bar Meals are available from 10:00 until 21:30.

The Club Bar is open 24 hours for residents.

From the Forth Road Bridge and the North: At the Barnton roundabout on the a90, turn right onto the a902. At the traffic lights at the Shell Garage, turn left onto the a8 towards the City Centre. After a couple of miles turn left at the next set of traffic lights past the Zoo onto Ellersly Road. From Stirling and the North: On the M9, turn left at the Newbridge roundabout onto the A8 towards the City Centre. After approximately five miles, you will pass the Zoo on your left, turn left at the next set of traffic lights onto Ellersly Road. From the M8: Exit at Junction 1, City Bypass North. Turn right at the Gogar roundabout onto the A8. After a couple of miles turn left at the next set of traffic lights after the Zoo onto Ellersly Road. From the A1: Follow the City Bypass signs, going west towards the airport. At the Gogar roundabout, turn right onto the A8, and then as for the M8 above. From the A702: Come into Edinburgh at the Hillend Ski Slope, turn left onto the City Bypass A720. At the Gogar roundabout, turn right onto the A8, and then as for the M8 above. From the City Centre: Take the A8 west towards Glasgow. Go past Haymarket railway station on the left, then a mile further on past Kwik-Fit on the left. Quarter of a mile on, at the Murrayfield Hotel, turn right into Murrayfield Road and take the first left onto Ellersly Road.

As of the 1st December 2007, development of residential accommodation will start in the rear car park and gardens, which are no longer controlled by the hotel.
The owners & main contractor have notified us that building works might operate between 7am and 4pm Mon-Friday and will run for the remaining 12 months the hotel is in operation, until the hotel ceases trading in January 2009.
The hotel bedrooms to the rear of the hotel will have obstructed views & the private gardens to the rear of the hotel will no longer be able to be used by hotel guests. This will also affect parking at the hotel, so car parking will be limited to the front car park only.


It is the policy of Festival Hotels Ltd to obtain a credit card number at the time of booking. A credit card imprint will be required by the hotel at check in as security for your accommodation and any extras taken during your stay. Full payment is required on check out at the hotel.
