The town of Bansko, nestled on the foot of the beautiful Pirin mountain, is 160 km away from both Sofia and Plovdiv, 100 km from the Rila monastery, and 120 km from Melnik.
Many mineral water springs and spas can be found in this area. Bansko provides recreational activities throughout the year, including skiing, hunting, fishing and rafting. There are also facilities for business conferences, study trips and congresses.
The mountain of God Perun is studded with 147 lakes, beautiful peaks and rivers. There are rare trees, plants, animals and flowers, one of them being the Edelweiss and the oldest fir on the Balkans, the Baykusheva Fir.
