Is located in a Island, named Aigina, 17 miles southern of main Piraeus port, in a beautifull gulf, The Saronic Gulf Islands..
The island of Aegina, in the middle of the Saronic Gulf, has been at the crossroads of cultures and rival actions for many thousands of years - from the mythical Aiakeans to the second world war.
Aegina is like something out of a movie, picturesque houses, winding alleys, horses wearing brightly coloured tassels and pulling carriages, fertile plains, terraced hill-sides of olive trees and aquamarine water. Luckily, the island is large enough to maintain many places of refuge from the crowds and the intrepid explorer will be well rewarded. Despite its small area (83 square kilometres), it offers great variety and has no reason to feel jealous of other "cosmopolitan" islands.
It's not difficult to find a nice place to swim on Aegina; there are various organised beaches with sunbeds and umbrellas, beach games and beach bars.
There are deserted beaches where you can swim in the crystal clear water and dream away in the distance. Or settle yourself on the rocks and discover the underwater world with your mask and snorkel. Because of the mild climate on Aegina the water temperature allows you to swim about 8 months of the year. The organised beaches are open from the end of May until about the end of September.
The hotel was built in 1980, including 20 rooms along with 5 studios. It was renovated in 2004.
Most of them with kitchen.
There is an on-site mini market for the convenience of hotel guests. A small kitchen is provided in some rooms for guests wishing to cook food they have bought from the hotel mini market.
Shops, restaurants and bars are only a short walk away, along the beach.
Isidora Hotel is situated in the traditional village of Agia Marina, in the North East of Aegina Island. Although a small village, Agia Marina has plenty to offer visitors.
It has the largest organised beach on the island, where visitors can hire sun beds with umbrellas, paddle boats and canoes. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants along the beach offering Greek delicacies. It is also an ideal place for families with children.
From Piraeus there are several ferries to Aegina. There are ferries of Hellenic Seaways (used to be Saronic) and the ferry Agios Nektarios which is a seperate company. There are 2 Hydrofoil companies: Hellenic Seaways and Vasilopoulos. There is also a fast Catamaran service to Aegina.
Prices of tickets vary depending on the ferry you take. Agios Nektarios is the cheapest (single ticket 4 euro) and Hellenic Seaways is the most expensive (single ticket around 9 euro). You can find the exact timetables at the ticketoffices at the quay, the entrance door of the ferry also displays the time the ferry will leave.
- July 17th we celebrate the St. Marina's name day.The celebration program offers, music, dance, free food, as well as fireworks at the nearest beach.
- On August 15th we celebrate the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary. You can visit the old monastery of Virgin Mary, hidden behind the rocks. Many people usually follow a narrow path between trees walking to the monastery.
- From August the 1st, until the end, there are several events every day.
- An ancient drama theatrical act, is taking place at the Afea temple area.
